Updating Datalogic Firmware

The following procedure applies to Falcon X4 devices.

For legacy troubleshooting of X3s, the devices need to be connected to a PC using a USB cable.

The DXU desktop utility configures devices and updates firmware. Download the DXU.exe at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts to install.

The desktop application works on a PC running Windows 10, 8.1, 8 and 7.

Using the desktop configuration utility

  1. Once the utility has successfully download, the following screen displays:

  2. Click Refresh to locate any devices that are on the same WiFi network.

  3. Click Add Device to include a new device then enter its IP address.

    Once added successfully, the devices display in Available Devices.

  4. Select the Firmware Utility option.

  5. Click the device.

  6. Select the Firmware Image to install.

  7. Click Update.

    The Status section will let you know when the update is complete.

  8. Click Cancel when the upgrade is finished.

  9. Go back to the device page then click Device Info to confirm the firmware version.
